Sulong ENTREP: Lahing Kayumanggi!

Kabalikat para sa Maunlad na Buhay Inc. or more popularly known as KMBI has been empowering Filipinos especially women since 1986 to break into micro entrepreneurship. Personally, I’m really thankful that there are still individuals like them, who take time to help the poor and marginalized members of the society to reach their dreams and feel fulfillment with the life they are living. KMBI initiates change even in the simplest of things. Not all business ventures have to start big and here is where KMBI comes in, they imbibe capacity, capital, and character into every woman that they help. Guided by these 3 C’s, women are sure to reach their goal.

Since 2007, KMBI has held a yearly summit as its anniversary celebration, and as a thanksgiving assembly to the Almighty God for all the blessings the group has been getting for the past years. This October 23, KMBI is reaching out to all the “entrepinoys” in Negros! They will be having another summit at the Victorias Sports and Amusement Center in Victorias City, Negros Occidental. This year’s summit will be guided by the phrase “My God is a keeper… and so I must be”, which clearly shows that KMBI is lead by Christian Values.

This year’s tagline: Sulong ENTREP: Lahing Kayumanggi! proves that they are really here to help every aspiring Filipino, and lend a hand to real people and obtain real results. With the line Lahing Kayumanggi, entrepreneurs have created an identity of the Filipino, in which every one can relate to, the color of their skin. This is most appropriate because, many of our fellow Filipinos, especially those living in the provinces are used to the usual buy and sell, and retail trade. The Summit aims to give a new light to the word Business, and brings hope that these micro entrepreneurs will not only stick to what they are used to, but finally break into the bigger market.

5,000 attendees, mainly women will join this year’s summit. Seasoned speakers and business experts, such as Pastor Bong Saquing, Pastor Philip Tarroja, Maricel and Anthony Pangilinan will share their humble beginnings, and how they were able to overcome all the obstacles that they encountered, and how they have reached the success of their business careers. The talk will emphasize on the secrets and tips on better business practices that each entrepreneur must do to achieve growth. At the end of each forum, there will be an open-mic session in which participants are given a chance to raise their questions and also ask tips from the professionals who will grace the event.

Outstanding women microentrepreneurs will also be recognized in the said event, through the KMBI Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The last portion of the summit which attendees must look forward to is the Tulong sa Negosyo Raffle. Ten lucky winners will be able to take home Php100, 000, and 50 lucky winners will get Php10, 000 each. I am sure that the prize money can help our entrepreneurs in the expansion of their business.

We are all looking forward for this exciting event. And I hope that God graces KMBI even more so that they can reach out to more Filipino women entrepreneurs in need of help. Kudos to you guys!
